The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
King James Version (public domain)
When your heart is shattered by grief, disappointment, or the weight of your own mistakes, it is easy to feel as though God has retreated far from your reach. You may suffer in silence, believing that your pain is too great for anyone to truly understand or mend. Yet, the scriptures reveal a beautiful truth: Jesus is not a distant observer of your sorrow. He is drawn to the place of your brokenness. He moves closer to you when your spirit is crushed and your pride has withered away. In those moments of deep humility and contrition, you encounter the compassionate touch of your Savior. Jesus does not despise your tears or your fragility; He cradles them in His hands and begins the work of restoration. Do not hide your wounds from Him, for it is in the transparency of your brokenness that you experience His profound love and His saving grace.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for being near to me when I am hurting. My heart is heavy, and I need Your healing touch to mend what is broken inside. Help me to remain humble before You, knowing that You are the only one who can truly save and restore my weary spirit.
Today's declaration
I am never alone because Jesus is near to my broken heart and provides restoration.
