አማርኛ · Ethiopian tradition
Amharic — traditional Ethiopian rendering
Modern English
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
King James Version (public domain)
You often feel exhausted because you try to navigate your path through life relying solely on your limited human energy. There are seasons where your heart feels heavy and your spirit seems drained by the relentless pace of your daily responsibilities. Jesus invites you to shift your perspective from your own efforts to His inexhaustible supply. Waiting upon the Lord is not an act of passivity; it is an active, trusting engagement where you surrender your exhaustion to Him. When you look to Jesus, He infuses your spirit with heavenly vitality, allowing you to rise above the chaos of your circumstances. You will find that He grants you the endurance of the eagle, not by your own might, but by the power of His indwelling presence. As you lean on Him, He promises that you will move forward without succumbing to fatigue, finding perfect rest in His capable hands.
Prayer
Father, I bring my exhaustion to You today. I choose to wait upon Your perfect timing and trust in Your strength rather than my own. Please fill me with the power of Your Holy Spirit so that I can walk through this day with grace, endurance, and quiet confidence in You.
Today's declaration
I wait upon the Lord and receive His divine strength to overcome every challenge before me.
